How to Get Started

Choose a Track

1. Academic Track – The Online Academic Track is one of the simplest and most affordable ways to complete the Charis Bible College First-Year Program.

All courses are arranged in easy-to-follow 3-course bundles in a set mix of Interactive and Self-Paced formats.
Bundles #1-9 are the required core courses and then select any 4 elective bundles from bundles #10-15.
Start with bundle #1 or #2 and then chart your way through to completion.

2. Custom Track – You can create your own custom track with individual courses and/or course bundles to complete the first-year program. You may also take individual courses and/or course bundles for personal study.

The Course List (Academic Plan) provides a list of core and elective courses in recommended order.

The Availability Schedule — Online Interactive shows which Interactive courses and course bundles are available in each term. This schedule also includes the Interactive term enrollment dates and the Interactive course start and end dates.

Set Your Pace

Set your pace of progress to match your goals, budget, and schedule.

1. Finish in 10 Months

Complete 6 courses every Interactive term cycle (approximately 4 courses/month)
12-16 hours/week of study needed

2. Finish in 20 Months

Complete 3 courses every Interactive term cycle (approximately 2 courses/month)
6-8 hours/week of study needed

3. Finish in 30 Months

Complete 2 courses every Interactive term cycle (approximately 1 course/month)
4-5 hours/week of study needed

4. Custom Pace

You may also set a slower, faster, or more random pace to complete the first-year program, or take courses at any time for personal study.

Course Formats

All Online Courses

Each course includes eight 40-50-minute video teachings, course outline, and final exam.
Courses are accessed through the Online Campus site. Course materials may also be downloaded to any device for off-line viewing.
The course material (MP4 video and MP3 audio teachings, and pdf outline) is yours to download, keep, and enjoy for years to come.
Students will receive a Certificate of Completion after completing 39 courses (27 core courses and any 12 elective courses) and will then be eligible to apply for the Charis Bible College 2nd-Year Program as an on-campus or hybrid student.

Interactive Format

Have a staff facilitator to answer questions and help you navigate the course.
Study with like-minded believers as you discuss each lesson with classmates through online message boards.
Login and work on your lessons any time day or night.
Courses are offered year-round in 6-week term cycles.
Do two lessons a week and then complete the exam the 5th week of the term.
Final course grade is 70% course exam, 25% discussions, and 5% course survey.

Self-Paced Format

You can begin your Self-Paced course immediately after enrolling.
Go at your own pace and progress through the course as quickly or as slowly as you’d like.
Final course grade is 100% course exam.
